About me
Academic work
I am completing a PhD in Economics at the Australian National University. My chair supervisor is John Stachurski, and my supervisory panel includes Fedor Iskhakov and Timothy Kam. I delivered my ANU oral presentation on 27 May 2026 and expect to submit my thesis in August 2026.
I joined QuantEcon in December 2019 and am a research associate there now. In June 2026, I began a research collaboration involving the University of Hyogo, Kobe University, and RIKEN. I will take up a part-time Research Scientist appointment with the University of Hyogo and RIKEN from November 2026. Further details of my academic work are available on the Research, QuantEcon Projects, and Teaching pages.
Interests
My intellectual interests include mathematics, economics, and computer science. They were shaped first by my paternal grandfather and later by my supervisors. Outside academic work, I enjoy writing, reading history, tennis, cooking, spending time in nature, and exploring fine art.
I compete in table tennis and coach children and adults. Competition and coaching have reinforced my appreciation for patient, deliberate practice.
Languages
Chinese (native), English, and Japanese (fluent).
